Our client is a leader in their field and after a successful period of consolidation, they are now entering an exciting phase of expansion and actively recruiting for growth across all functions of the business. They are now looking for an experienced Head of Finance to join them.
Role Overview
* To provide partnering support to the executive team and senior managers, that ensures they have accurate and timely management information including, key performance indicators (KPIs), Value for Money (VfM) metrics, accounts, forecasts, annual budgets and variance analyses.
* To support your line manager in the provision of relevant, timely and accurate financial information for strategic decision-making, co-ordinating with your direct reports to ensure accuracy of data, namely, but not limited to, the annual rent and service charges setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Throughout the charity, improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on the charity’s performance
* Prepare monthly management accounts and present these to the leadership teams, including variance analysis and commentary to budgets, and forecasts for each department.
* Support ongoing projects with monthly financial data, helping forecast future capitalisation costs and depreciation to assist project leaders.
* Manage the rolling five-year cash forecast and assist your line manager with the rolling five-year business financial plans.
* Act as a key driver of cross-functional working relationships, supporting nonfinance personnel in their understanding of financial performance, providing finance advice and support to key stakeholders
* Provide strong leadership to the finance team enabling staff engagement and ultimately effective financial monitoring and planning across the business
* Lead on the preparation of individual sites/units annual operating/revenue and capital budgets.
* Completion of monthly system to system reconciliations, ensuring any risks are identified and mitigated on a timely basis.
* Completion of standard monthly balance sheet control accounts., combined with full supporting analysis and explanations.
* Work with your direct reports to provide financial management and accounting services including; rent accounting, implementation of procurement policy and payroll functions.
* Sign-off of reconciliation of all accounts on a monthly basis.
* Lead on interaction with HMRC as requested by your direct reports.
* Lead on the annual statutory accounts and annual budget preparations.
Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience of internal financial controls and Capital/Property accounting
* Significant financial management experience, ideally in social housing and/or the voluntary sector
* Extensive experience in presenting to senior stakeholders
* Business acumen and the ability to understand complex financial information
* Developed understanding of the dynamics of financial management and its impact on small to medium enterprises
* Previous knowledge of working with an ERP/accounting system preferably Pyramid.
* Qualified accountant - ACCA or ACA or CIMA
