Our client are a dynamic and growing established freight forwarding agent based in Southall, dedicated to delivering high-quality services to their clients and are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant with previous experience, fluent French and knowledge of Sage to join the finance team.
Job Title: Accounts Assistant - French Speaker
Location: Southall, UK
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum/NEG (Dependent on Experience)
Hours: Full-time, 08:30am-17:30pm 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, with a 1-hour unpaid break)
Overtime: Paid after 40 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with day-to-day accounting operations using Sage, including data entry, invoicing, and reconciliations.
Support the preparation of financial reports, including monthly management accounts.
Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Handle bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory reporting.
Collaborate with the finance team to support month-end and year-end close processes.
Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a similar accounts assistant role.
Proficiency with Sage accounting software is essential.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and processing.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication skills, French/English Langues and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
