Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Staveley, South Lakes
Position Summary: This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and talented individual in our client's South Lakes office. The successful applicant will need to be able to plan and prioritise their own workload, communicate with clients and colleagues in a professional manner, and be a good team player to ensure their team and our client's firm meet their objectives.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Preparing draught tax returns and computations alongside the accounts work
Preparing draught VAT returns
Liaising with clients in a confident and professional manner
Dealing with HMRC in regard to queries and correspondence
Analysing data and producing accurate reports
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience of preparing self-assessment tax returns, year-end accounts & corporation tax computations to draught stage
Studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent experience
Ability to meet deadlines and be proactive
Attention to detail
Aptitude for figures and an interest in business and finance
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Motivated and enthusiastic
Ability to work towards individual and team targets
Problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing a professional, punctual, and accurate service to clients
Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate, organise, and take responsibility for performance
Client-focused attitude and commercial awareness within the firm
Knowledge and experience of using cloud accounting software
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge and experience of using Sage software
