We are delighted to be seeking to appoint a new Director of Finance and Governance to join the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO).
BTO is a non-governmental, non-campaigning organisation focused on securing the future for birds and nature, using science, monitoring and data to inform good environmental decisions and inspire others with the wonder of birds. Between now and 2030, BTO will strengthen its role in the conservation sector, providing robust scientific evidence to support solution-orientated action.
As Director of Finance and Governance, you will be pivotal in achieving our ambitions. Joining a brilliant senior leadership team, you'll collaborate with a supportive Board of Trustees and the Finance and Risk Committee, driving efforts to secure innovative income streams. You'll also contribute to a newly established Board subcommittee focused on Business Development.
This exciting role demands strategic thinking, creative problem-solving, and adept navigation of complex financial landscapes. You'll drive a bold new strategy launched for our 90th anniversary, using science and collaboration to benefit birds and foster inclusivity. Success will mean growing our financial resources, honouring our heritage, and embracing new challenges.
We are looking for someone who shares our core values and ambitions, is inclusive and able to think about BTO finances in new and novel ways.
Birds Science People - it's a powerful combination, working for a better future for all of us.
This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference for the natural world, and for thousands of people who share our passion for birds.
If you are ready to be part of this exciting journey and want to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.
