About the Role
We are working with a fantastic organisation to support them in hiring a permanent full time Head of Finance in their Group Finance function, based in Leamington Spa. This position will be offered on a hybrid working basis.
Reporting in to the CFO, this pivotal role ensures the financial health and operational excellence of the organisation. You will oversee all financial operations, including the production of accurate consolidated monthly management accounts and year-end reporting, within strict deadlines. The role also involves fostering collaboration across departments, ensuring financial systems and processes meet the organisation’s evolving needs, and embedding a high-performance culture within the Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a team of 10, with 4 direct reports, you will lead the team to focus on the day-to-day financial operations and oversee the annual budget process and weekly cash flow management. You will maintain and upgrade finance systems, controls, and policies, ensuring they align with organisational goals. The role involves producing financial reports in compliance with UK GAAP and statutory regulations, managing group consolidated statutory accounts, and ensuring timely compliance with filing deadlines. External relationships with auditors, bankers, and HMRC will also fall under your remit. In addition, you will oversee the financial management of various subsidiary organisations and charitable trusts, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
Team leadership is a central aspect of this position. By mentoring and developing the team, you will cultivate a collaborative and forward-thinking culture that aligns with the organisation’s values.
About You
You are a qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant experience in a similar senior role. Your expertise in financial principles, UK GAAP, and regulatory compliance is complemented by strong leadership skills, demonstrated through your ability to manage and develop diverse teams. You excel in stakeholder engagement, communication, and decision-making, with a proven ability to solve complex problems and make impactful decisions autonomously.
You have advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems. You thrive under pressure, effectively prioritising and managing multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines.
